KeepUply Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 2026

KeepUply (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, your rights regarding that information, and how we comply with applicable privacy laws, including the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA).

This policy applies to your use of the KeepUply mobile application (“the App”).

1. Information We Collect

A. Information you provide directly

When you use KeepUply, you may create and store data such as:

  • Reminder titles (e.g., “Change HVAC filter”)
  • Categories (e.g., Home, Health, Vehicle, etc.)
  • Recurrence schedules (e.g., every 3 months)
  • Due dates and completion dates
  • Notes associated with reminders
  • Your preferred reminder notification time

This information is created and controlled entirely by you.

B. Device and account information

KeepUply may use:

  • Your Apple ID for authentication (via iCloud) only if you enable iCloud sync (not yet available – will be available soon)
  • Basic device information required by Apple to deliver notifications (e.g., notification permissions)

We do not collect personal identity information beyond what is necessary to deliver core functionality through Apple’s systems.

C. Notifications

If you enable notifications, KeepUply will schedule local notifications on your device to remind you when an item is due. These notifications are handled by Apple’s notification system and are not stored or processed by KeepUply on external servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Store and manage your reminders
  • Calculate upcoming due dates
  • Deliver local notifications when items are due
  • Sync your data across devices if you enable iCloud sync

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or analytics.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal bases for processing your personal data are:

  • Your consent: When you enable notifications or iCloud sync, you provide explicit consent for us to use Apple’s systems to deliver those features.
  • Performance of a contract: We process your data to provide the core functionality of the App that you request (i.e., creating and managing reminders).
  • Legitimate interests: We may process limited technical information necessary to ensure the App functions correctly, securely, and reliably.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by disabling notifications or iCloud sync in your device settings.

4. Data Storage and Security

A. On-device storage

By default, your data is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. We do not maintain our own external servers for storing your reminders.

B. iCloud Sync (optional – not yet available, will be available soon)

If you enable iCloud sync, your data will be securely stored in your iCloud account and synced across your Apple devices. This data is protected by Apple’s iCloud security and privacy protections.

KeepUply does not have independent access to your iCloud data outside of what Apple’s framework provides

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

Your data is only shared with Apple’s systems as necessary to provide:

  • iCloud synchronization (if enabled)
  • Local notifications

We do not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

6. Data Retention

Your data remains stored on your device (and in iCloud, if enabled) until you:

  • Delete individual reminders, or
  • Delete the KeepUply app from your device

Deleting the app will remove locally stored data. If you use iCloud sync, data may remain in your iCloud account until you remove it there as well.

We do not retain your data on our own servers because we do not operate any.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & California)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

A. Rights under GDPR (for EU/EEA users)

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

To exercise these rights, contact us at support@keepuply.com.

B. Rights under California law (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (note: we do not sell or share your data)
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

To make a request, contact us at support@keepuply.com. We will verify your request in accordance with applicable law.

8. Categories of Personal Information (California)

For transparency under California law, we disclose that KeepUply may involve the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers: Apple ID (only if iCloud sync is enabled)
  • Internet/Network Activity: Limited technical data required by Apple’s notification system
  • User-Provided Content: Reminder titles, notes, and schedules you create within the App

We do not sell or share any of this information.

9. Children’s Privacy

KeepUply is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy
